HSBC Asset Management sustainable investing survey

    HSBC Asset Management has worked with Core data research to conduct a sustainable investing client survey between 1 January – 28 February 2021 with 1,000 affluent and high net worth individuals in HK, mainland China, Singapore and UK as well as 100 advisers in each market.

    This survey points that almost half (46 per cent) of affluent and high net worth (HNW) investors in Hong Kong, mainland China, Singapore and the UK believe their portfolios will be entirely made up of sustainable investments in the next three to five years.

    Pandemic impact

    Nearly two-thirds of investors (61 per cent) say pandemic has caused them to rethink the way they invest

    Importance of ESG

    Majority (82 per cent) rate sustainable, environmental and ethical issues as quite or very important

    Recovery after covid 19

    Over two-thirds (68 per cent) want their investments to support the ‘build back better’ efforts with more sustainable investments in the future.
